The Physician Leadership Program

The CMO/Medical Director is one of the most important positions in a hospice. The new COPs and proposed reform to the hospice industry are requiring MORE physician involvement than ever before. The physician wields a tremendous amount of influence in terms of quality, service, cost, and compliance. Often the physician has not been properly armed with the tools necessary to do a world class job. There is a lack of training in understanding the Multi-View Model and awareness of how clinical practice can affect the operating margin in major ways. A significant amount of leadership skills are also required to successfully mentor other physicians brought into an organization. Hospice physicians play a much bigger role in determining eligibility and determining and tracking quality measures. To be an effective leader, the CMO/Medical director must accurately interpret the current state of their organization, formulate strategies for cost savings, and influence/mentor providers in a positive manner. An effective CMO is a necessary ingredient to any world class hospice organization.

The CMO/Medical Director will be introduced to the Multi-view Model; however, the PLP is mainly geared towards providing the necessary tools required to become a superb CMO/Medical director. Participants will learn:
